The Bourgeois family is very attached to plot selection. Established in Chavignol, a few steps from Sancerre, for ten generations, it presents for the end of the year one of its iconic parcel vintages, the only pinot noir from the emblematic Côte des Monts Damnés: the Graveron 2015.
Refined, this Sancerre comes from vines planted in 1997 on the western side of the Côte des Monts Damnés, known for its Kimmeridgian marl terroir, which expresses all its magic. Harvested at maturity, the Pinot Noirs come only from this 1.30 hectare plot with a southern exposure. Aged in oak barrels for a year, this wine has a deep garnet color with brilliant reflections. A complex nose – black fruits, spices – then gives way to notes of red fruits. In the mouth, the attack is greedy and the tannins are silky. The finish gives way to red fruits and chocolate notes.
