The Bretteau bakery, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, will offer throughout the month of January a traditional and gourmet galette des Rois.
Back to basics and tradition. This year, the galette des Rois from Bretteau, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Avenue de la Motte-Piquet, will be classic, gourmet and generous. Sébastien Bretteau, who runs the Parisian bakery in the 7th arrondissement, wants to celebrate Epiphany – on Wednesday, January 6, editor’s note – with a galette made with a gourmet frangipane made with almonds mixed daily, and a flaky pastry richly buttered with Montaigu AOP Charentes-Poitou butter. A frank rasp of cold embellishes the cake and comes to heighten the aromas.
On sale from January 1st to 31, 2021 in the two boutiques of the house – Boulangerie Bretteau, 31 avenue de la Motte-Piquet; Du pain et vous, 63 avenue Bosquet – and available for delivery, these galettes contain original beans from a drawing contest held with the kindergarten class of the La Rochefoucauld school, a stone’s throw from the stores.
