Michel Herbelin’s iconic Newport collection, spearheaded by the Jura-based company since the late 1980s, unveils a modernist interpretation of the model through a limited edition of 500 pieces: the Newport Skeleton.
Inspired by the marine world, like the other models in the collection, this exclusive model has a 42 mm anthracite gray PVD-treated stainless steel case. This polished and brushed box, cut in three facets, frames a conical and notched crown. The bezel, matching the case, is engraved with the name of the collection and reveals five hexagonal screws identical to the winch cores of sailing boats.
True to its marine vocation, this Newport takes up the historical codes of the collection: central strap attachments, porthole-style bezel, etc. But it has black nickel hour and minute hands, created specifically for Michel Herbelin, partially covered with luminescent material like the indexes. Water-resistant to 100 meters, it is mounted on a FKM rubber strap
The transparent dial, protected by a sapphire crystal, highlights the movement, which has the geometry of a wheel bar. The oscillating weight, benefiting from a specific work, brings a maximum of transparency to the timepiece. This Swiss-made automatic caliber, a Sellita SW400-1, generates 28,800 oscillations per hour and has a power reserve of 38 hours.
