Chanel unveils a high jewelry collection dedicated to Scottish fabric. A first!
Innovation at Chanel! For the first time in his history, the house unveils a collection of high jewelry exclusively for the dedicated to tweed. This collection of 45 pieces opens a new chapter in the history of this fabric, that Gabrielle Chanel was particularly fond of and which was an essential part of his wardrobe.
To design this collection, Chanel had to respond to several questions: how to make gold and diamonds so flexible than hand-woven tartan wool? What threads to pull to instill to a fabric of metal and stones a rhythm and a deep breath and pure?
To achieve this, the high jewelry workshop has developed a particular techniques of gold enameling, in order to translate the appearance of the irregular tweed. Precious stones are worked here on several levels, so as to offer the necklaces, rings and bracelets of the rich textured effects. Entirely handmade, the creations, with clean lines, emit a graphic power generated by exceptional weavings.
