The iconic Burgundy house, based in Beaune, unveils its summer vintages. We have selected two of them.
We love summer, as we love Burgundy. With the return of the sun and summer temperatures, we at Bouchard Père & Fils, the iconic house of Beaune, have chosen two specially adapted vintages.
In white first, the Beaune du Château, Premier Cru 2017 cuvée, made from a blend of five Beaune Premier Cru terroirs, has a brilliant color and reveals a greedy nose of slightly woody ripe fruit aromas. Rich and fresh, it offers a woody finish. This elegant wine, served slightly chilled, opens as an aperitif and holds its role throughout the meal.
In red then, another Premier Cru 2017: a successful Savigny-Les-Beaune “Les Lavières”. Ruby color, intense nose with notes of spices, it is fruity and very fresh in the mouth. Good companion of poultry or summer dishes – but also, in season, of game birds – it can also be kept in the cellar for a long time.
