Château Dauzac, the fifth Grand Cru Classé of Margaux in 1855, has a single vineyard spread over 49 hectares. Unlike the Bordeaux system, Château Dauzac works in the Burgundy style in order to reinforce the parcel identity of its wines.
Its Aurore de Dauzac cuvée comes from the easternmost parcels of the vineyard. This plot selection favors the expression of the Cabernet Sauvignon and gives the wine its fruit and intensity. This 2018 vintage, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (61%) and Merlot (39%) shows a balance claiming the minerality of Margaux terroirs. A year of ageing gives the tannins a great suppleness, combined with a real greediness which makes it a wine to drink young. Garnet color with purple reflections, nose of red fruits and slightly floral, mouth characterize this wine, whose tasting is marked by a round attack, notes of black fruits and a length which remains fresh.
