It is in the southwest of the Minervois that Catherine and Laurent Delaunay gave birth, in 1995, to Les Jamelles. With the concern to operate a precise work of selection and assembly of Languedoc terroirs with different tonalities. The 2018 Beillou, which is part of the Sélection Parcellaire range, is an atypical wine: this Carignan, in fact, is vinified on its own, something rare for a demanding grape variety. From century-old vines that flourish in clay soil, the grapes are hand-picked and half are vinified as whole bunches in wooden vats. This wine has a black color with purple reflections, and reveals a beautiful aromatic palette: black fruits, elder flowers… On the palate, a beautiful persistence and a spicy and fresh finish make it an elegant wine.
