DS will present its new flagship, the DS 9, on March 5, 2020, which will be the first large sedan in its range. <\/h3>\n\n

It will not be officially presented until March 5, 2020, at the Geneva Motor Show, but DS has already lifted the veil on its DS 9, constituting its first large sedan.<\/strong> Intended to compete with the models of this high-end segment<\/strong>This sedan, which will be available in the second half of the year, boasts dimensions close to those of an Audi A6 or a BMW 5 Series<\/strong> with a length of 4.93 meters, a width of 1.85 meters and a wheelbase of 2.90 meters.<\/p>\n\n

The DS 9, which shares its EMP2 platform with the Peugeot 508, features the DS Wings grille<\/strong>, a favourite of the French brand. At the rear, the sedan is equipped with horns at the ends of the roof that are reminiscent of the 1955 DS:<\/strong> but on this car, they act as side lights. The tapered stern lights, highlighted by a chrome strip extending into side swords, are a nod to the graphic elements of the great French bodywork of the 1930s.<\/strong> Inside, the car unsurprisingly features the manufacturer’s stylistic codes, particularly deployed on the DS 7 Crossback<\/a>. A BRM watch tops the dashboard.<\/p>\n\n

For the time being, the DS 9 does not use diesel and concentrates on a range of engines consisting of a 225 horsepower Puretech petrol version and an E-Tense plug-in hybrid of the same power..<\/strong> Eventually, two other hybrids will be offered: one with 260 horsepower and extended range, and the other, four-wheel drive, with 360 horsepower. The common thread is the eight-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n\n
